Welcome to Srushti Montessori- House of Children. Srushti means " creation " and we believe children like nature 's creation who should be allowed to explore learn and grow by connecting themselves to the surroundings.
The programs in Srushti will benefit in creating a natural desire to learn in children and guide them to interact with others. We believe each child is unique and with the help of their identified strength, the children are influenced to blossom naturally.
Srushti Montessori is an inclusive set up which caters to the needs of all the children. The children are trained based on Dr. Maria Montessori's method which guide them to be independent and confident in the socitet. The adults are mere observers and facilitators for the children. Most of the times, the children are made to learn rather giving them a chance to explore, experiment and experience what they absorb. From Dr Maria Montessori's perspective, it is about creating an awareness, building an understanding towards learning and developing compassion in the child towards serving the world.
Srushti Montessori House of Children, provides a progressive inclusive approach towards the early childhood education, through multi sensory , discovery approach.
We believe that the child should be free to express, ask the questions, share their ideas /discoveries and allowed to be creative in their own way. With guidance comes freedome which stimulates the child 's brain to be creative than repetitive
These activities make the child:
- independent
- be adaptable
- be confident of self
- graceful, compassionate and courteous
This area consists of materials that refine the child's senses with respect to :
- visual
- colours
- auditory
- tactile
- smell (olfactory)
- taste ( gustatory)
- weight
The child develops:
- sense of discrimination
- sense of judgement
- ability to explore and apply the concepts.
It is certain that, mathematics organises the abstract path of the mind, so we must offer it at an early age in clear accessible manner as stimulus to mind of child whose mind is yet to be organized.
The activities are presented in such a way that the child develops the logical sense through concrete to abstract, from simple to complex.
The child, hence is able to:
- manipulate the materials for his understanding
- understand the vocabulary related to the Operations
- merging quantities to know addition
- take away to know subtraction
- join the same set of quantities repeatedly to know multiplication
- share equally to know division
- develop a clear logic and reasoning than rote process
Children are interested in books when they know how to read. This is obvious that it seems superfluous to say so. The environment that is created is rich in oral language opportunities and guides the child through structured guidance of learning the vocabulary on their journey towards reading and writing. The same process is followed when the child is ready for the second and third language ( kannada /hindi) depending on parents' choice.
The child would have worked on different montessori activities which would have prepared and refined the child's ability to hold the pencil. Apart from that, they gain better coordination and grip over the use of pencil.
At this stage , we request our parents help on the following matters if they work with children at home:
- not to teach them the names of letters, only the sounds of the letters as it will help them blend and ensure a smooth spelling journey.
- teach them the lower case of letters incase they teach the child to write his/ her name.
The science activities revolve on things ( living & non- living) in the environment.
Through geography activities, the child develops a sense of direction , location and different aspects of the Earth e.g the landforms.
The purpose of learning history is for the child to understand and gain knowledge with respect to passage of time and how did life origin.
